I found a few things started happening when I became more visible, especially on LinkedIn:

❌ Some people took the piss (Hi Andy 😉 )

✅ I genuinely didn’t care, because lots of good stuff started happening:

- Really amazing people started connecting with me on LinkedIn, and I got to chat to them and explore opportunities in real life
‍
- Some of my pals, super talented and intelligent women, started thinking they should also start writing on LinkedIn (do it!)
‍
- I started being approached about opportunities that I never would have known about or put myself forward for

It’s been less than 2 months since I finished my time with UPFRONT and the difference is night and day. And it’s a lot to do with visibility.

My List of 2024 Visibility Wins (this is not what 2023 looked like)

1. Generated leads for new lending opportunities
2. Received introductions to three meaningful collaborations for Reliance
3. Realised that sharing financial education generously is my superpower
4. Colleagues have a better understanding of what I'm working on and what I'm about
5. Built my knowledge of a new sector much quicker
6. Added meaningfully to my network, especially in social finance
7. Writing my list of 2024 achievements was a doddle
8. Offered Board Trustee and Non-Exec roles
9. Inspired others to be brave and apply for Board roles
10. Asked to guest on one of my most-listened-to podcasts (pinch me)
11. Asked to speak at events
12. Asked to deliver a workshop on Investment Readiness
13. Recommended to people I respect as a good person to learn authentic visibility from
14. Built a community that I love to hear from
15. Received multiple messages thanking me for sharing my experiences, particularly with redundancy
16. Built a writing and reflection habit and realised a lot can be achieved with a piece of (any) paper and a pen. It doesn't have to be a fancy journal, although I do have plenty of those.
17. Made amazing, lifelong friends with deeper connections
18. TWO friends called me badass because of Number 10! This is a new adjective for me. 😊
19. Friends read my book recommendations and shared them amongst colleagues
20. Got comfortable with a selfie

One of the biggest things I gained from the Visibility Bond was the inexcusable push I needed to hear. I struggle to own my achievements and shout about them, and also shout out about others' achievements. The Visibility Bond helped me rip the bandaid off and give it a try, even if it was one small step, it made me feel hopeful. I recommend it to anyone who's ready to show themselves and share their much-needed expertise with the world!

The Visibility Bond connected me with an incredible community and challenged me to pursue opportunities I never thought possible. It has given me the confidence and support to speak up about the subjects that truly matter to me. Before, I felt like I had to walk on eggshells - but now, I feel equipped knowing that others have faced similar challenges and have created avenues, resources, and tools to navigate them. I'm no longer alone, and that has made all the difference.

The Visibility Bond helped me realise that I'm not visible to the right people. I have lots of supporters around me and my business, which is encouraging. However, I need to change my approach to visibility to reach decision makers in the organisations I want to work with, otherwise I won't be able to create the impact I so desperately want to create. I'd absolutely recommend this Bond to anyone who's ready to level up their business.

This Visibility Bond reminded me to take bold action and helped me shape my plans for the year ahead around visibility. I highly recommend it to anyone ready to step up and embrace being upfront. I believe the world would be a better place if more women learned the impact of visibility.

The real-life examples in the Visibility Bond were the most impactful. Seeing how to make tweaks and understanding the different approaches others have taken was invaluable. It's helped me bring focus back to my actions, especially when work is so frantic. The process has given me space to stop and think about me, and that's been a game-changer.

Joining the Visibility Bond has reminded me I have lots of transferrable skills most won't probably know about, hard work does not speak for itself and that I can and should be more visible.
